Hotel Prestige

Breakfast was good, and the room was clean. Everything else made this a place I wouldn't recommend. The hotel is right on the beach beside a club, with music going until 3 a.m. Even with the windows shut, trying to sleep felt like being in a nightclub cloakroom. The air conditioning in my room was completely useless, not even working as a fan. At midnight it was 26 C outside and 32 C in the room, and the noise meant opening a window wasn't an option. When I complained, reception said nothing could be done about the AC. The Wi-Fi only worked at reception, not in the rooms, which isn't acceptable for a hotel calling itself four-star. If you want a restful holiday in a cool room, don't book Prestige hotel in Mamaia.

The location right on the beach is good, and the staff are friendly. The rest was disappointing: dirty rooms, bathroom sinks that smelled bad, and old, lumpy mattresses. The breakfast was poor and cheap. It looks like the hotel may once have had four stars, since you can still see the fourth star covered with red paint after the downgrade.

We couldn't sleep here at all. Princess Summerland night club is right next door, and the music runs from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. The room AC didn't work, and I suspect the owners lower the electrical voltage to the rooms, causing the air conditioning to fail. There were mosquitoes in my room, mold in the bathroom, and the elevator was broken on our last day. It's a noisy, overpriced hotel right on the Black Sea. I'd never come back. Two-star conditions at a four-star price.

Right on the beach, with a lovely view if you get a sea-view room. Nice hotel and a great location.
