Everything else was okay, lol, but there was only one blanket for the double room. We were also nearly charged an extra administration fee because we hadn't noticed it. The elevator notice said there'd be no hot water from May 6 to May 8, but it was only in Romanian. The reception staff didn't speak English, which wasn't a huge surprise, though the reviewer makes a sweeping criticism that most Romanian staff are illiterate in other languages. The room felt like an '80s communist holiday camp: no hot water, an antique-shop TV, and carpet that gave the place an abandoned-brothel vibe.

It was quiet, and the TV and Wi-Fi both worked fine. There's daily housekeeping if you want it, the shower pressure was good, and the water got hot. There wasn't a kettle or coffee in the room, but you could buy some downstairs. We had a lovely view of the lake and were close to the beach. The hotel was affordable, and the M100 bus goes straight into town for very little, about 50 cents USD. I would've preferred to stay in the city, though. The glass wall lets the room heat up as the sun goes down, but closing the curtains then helps. The air conditioning was a bit weak, but you can leave the power card in to keep the room cool while you're out.

You can walk to the sea in about five minutes, and the hotel is a pleasant place to stay in Mamaia. The rooms are quiet and well equipped. From upstairs, the lake view and the sunsets each evening are amazing.

The lake view may be lovely, but other places have the same view, so I'd avoid this hotel. We're stuck here for six days in a room that's around 40 degrees and smells like sewage. They used chlorine in the bathroom to cover the odor, so now it smells of that instead. The air conditioning didn't work and pumped warm air, even though the receptionist blamed us for breaking it and insisted it was working. Outside it's 37 degrees. When I went back down to ask them to fix it or move us, I was yelled at, and my girlfriend was terrified. They wouldn't give us the receptionist's name or the manager's name and number when we asked. The reception phone was hidden in a drawer and defective, with its screen missing and the speaker rattling inside. The receptionist saw it, complained about customers, and said she was being extremely kind to come up to us when she wasn't paid for that. There are supposedly parking facilities, but the hotel has only five spaces and they're never available. When we pointed out that the listing promised free parking, the receptionist laughed at us. We were also treated as if we were wasting their time from the start. The staff couldn't speak English or Spanish, despite the description saying they could, and didn't know even basic English. My girlfriend isn't from Romania, and they made neither of us feel welcome.

The lake sunsets were the reason I booked three nights, and watching them from the balcony each evening was wonderful. My first room, number 52, had very slow or nonexistent Wi-Fi, but the lovely receptionist helped me switch to a better room that same day, where the connection was good. The cleaning staff were friendly, too. There are plenty of good local restaurants nearby, and the beach isn't far. The location, views, service, and rooms were nice enough that I'd stay again.
