The best part was the setting and the hosts, who helped carry our bags up from the main road because the steep country road to the house was icy. The price was affordable, too. Inside, the main area, bedrooms, and barbecue space aren’t connected, so you have to go outside to get between them. There are seven bedrooms for a capacity of 18, which meant we had four people in one room, three in each of two rooms, and two in each of the other four. One bedroom’s bathroom is out in the hallway. The house and cutlery weren’t clean, and water from an upstairs shower was leaking into the living and dining room roof. In cold weather, bring suitable gear: the courtyard path to the barbecue gets icy, and the living and dining room is very cold at night. We also had to pay someone else for extra firewood.

We felt at home right away. The guesthouse was clean and peaceful, and the host made us feel very welcome. It’s a lovely spot in Cheia if you want to get away from the city noise and relax. I’d happily recommend it.

There’s a magical view, it’s quiet, and a river runs through the barbecue area. For the price, you get a lot. :) But you have to call to get hot water and to get the heating turned on, and usually the water pressure isn’t enough even for a shower. They were repairing the roof at 8 am on Monday, even though the villa was rented out that day. Nobody told us. So much for sleeping in on vacation.

It’s not the most modern place we’ve stayed, but my family still gives it a solid 5. The owners clearly put a lot of effort into it, and we found a good host along with the scenery. Well done, we’re already thinking about visiting again.
