Hotel Recif

The reception ladies were welcoming, cheerful and always ready to help, and the cleaning staff on our floor kept things tidy. Those were the good parts of our weekend. The rest left us disappointed, and I wouldn't return or recommend the hotel. By the pool, a group of people in their mid-40s repeatedly got naked, which was very inappropriate around children. They also jumped in and splashed other guests despite the rules, driving people away. The hotel let them play their own loud gypsy music playlist, too, which disturbed everyone else's peace. There was also a hurtful incident involving the kitchen staff. As my husband and I walked past, one of them said "look, a black one" about him in Romanian. My husband understands Romanian and was understandably embarrassed and hurt. I also needed help with the pool umbrella. I asked a restaurant staff member, but he said he didn't work there. When I went to reception, they sent that same man to help. It seemed clear he hadn't wanted to help the first time.

The pool was a nice extra, and we had a lovely stay. Our room was clean and well furnished, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the room cards expired more than an hour before checkout, but the staff sorted it out quickly and pleasantly.

I've stayed here twice during my holiday and enjoyed the hotel. The staff were great, and I had no issues with them or anyone else. Each room has A/C, a decent TV and a balcony with space for two chairs and a coffee table. The beach is only a couple hundred metres away. The TV picture was a bit fuzzy, so the cable might need sorting out. That was my only real drawback. I found the food at the dining area called "springtime" too dry, but there are other places for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All-inclusive meals are also available with your stay. You need a card to turn on the electricity in the room. The fridge needs to be plugged into the socket that's always on. There are a few little problems, but they can be dealt with yourself. I enjoyed my stay here.

The staff are doing their best with what little they've been given. The room and amenities were decent, but the price was far too high for what you get. The beds were extremely hard, the bathroom was dark and the tiny balcony wasn't useful. Parking near the hotel was next to impossible. Breakfast was a major letdown, and there aren't any other options within walking distance.
