Helios is handy for the salt lakes, and you can use the pool and the tennis and volleyball courts. There’s lots of parking, and the receptionist was lovely. The hotel is on Romania’s Ministry of Tourism approved facilities list. Their restaurant isn’t open right now, though you can get morning coffee at reception. If your room is cold, ask the desk for an extra blanket. A few things to know: the rooms don’t have Wi-Fi, only the hallways do. Rooms with balconies cost extra, but the balconies are tiny, so I couldn’t dry my clothes there. They also don’t have milk for coffee, so I decided to bring them some 😁. For breakfast, Indus Restaurant is at the end of the street and open from 7 am until around 11 pm, I think. Check its reviews.

It’s close to town, so getting there by train or car is easy. There’s also body therapy nearby, and it’s a good spot for a team-building stay. The staff are cool and approachable. You can ask them anything, and they’re happy to offer advice and figure out how they can help.

The one good part was the clean outdoor pool, though there were no towels or mattresses for the chaise longues. The room photos below are of room 103, and they speak for themselves. We were meant to check in at 14:00, but the receptionist said we couldn't yet and didn't know when rooms would be ready. We finally got in at 15:40. The TV was very old, and nobody ever came to clean the room or change the towels.

The bathroom smelled awful, and there was hair in both the tub and sink. The furniture was old, the service was very poor, and there was no Wi-Fi in the room. If you arrived late for food, it was already gone. I wouldn't choose this hotel if you're looking for a good one.

The pool was great, but the breakfast that came with the stay was mediocre. The rooms weren't very clean and had lots of spiders. Over five days, nobody vacuumed or cleaned them. We got toilet paper and one towel each day, that was it.
