We return every October and have made it a tradition over the past four years. The food is always just as tasty, the rooms warm and impeccable, and Marioara and Viorel are as welcoming and kind as ever. This home, its owners and their cooking won a piece of my heart the first time I visited, four years ago. It is one of the few pensions in Breb with real food and a beautifully kept garden. The 100 years old house is wonderful for a genuine experience, and I'd always choose it over the new building. Just know that light sleepers may want a room in the new building, since the old house has squeaky floors. There are lovely tracking routes nearby, reaching Gutâi peak and Roosters ridge. The host was very helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. From here we could explore idyllic Breb. The village feels like stepping back in time, as if you'd opened your eyes in a place where people still lived 100 years ago. It was a nice experience.

We stayed for two nights two weeks ago, and had a terrific time. The room was very comfortable, and the hostess is a wonderful woman who does everything she can to make your stay great. Her traditional cooking was the best of the eight Pensiunea we stayed in. The old house is charming, so have a look at it as an option. I'd highly recommend this place.

The old house out back is lovely to stay in. I was disappointed, though, that it felt like we were interrupting lunch when we arrived, despite having made a reservation. I'd suggest being more welcoming, checking that guests have what they need and are happy, and offering at least a few simple snacks for lunch or dinner if possible. One other thing wasn't really the pension's fault: while I was reading in the garden, some local kids threw stones over the fence, and one nearly hit me. I wouldn't expect that in Breb.

The hosts were warm and professional, and really looked after us. Our large, comfortable room had lovely views from the balcony. The food and drink were amazing, with generous country-style portions, and having several good cups of coffee each morning made my day. Excellent place, and I highly recommend Pensiunea Marioara!
