I stayed at Denisa Boutique in August 2024. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and I enjoyed having the swimming pool as a bonus. I’d highly recommend it.

The property itself is beautiful and comfortable, with wonderful facilities, though the beds were noisy. Our stay was spoiled by the manager, Sorin. We had checked Booking.com in advance and saw a price of £68, but when Sorin realized we were international tourists, he changed it in front of us to £137. That felt like deliberate price gouging and deeply unprofessional treatment of foreigners. Book through Booking.com ahead of time, since going in person could mean being charged double the confirmed price.

The pool and sauna were very nice, and breakfast was good. The bathrobes and slippers were also nice. Still, the price doesn’t feel justified. I don’t see how this can be called a five-star hotel without an elevator. Our room looked onto another hotel and its parking lot. The jacuzzi-style bathtub smelled strange, and parts of it were coming apart. One receptionist could have been more polite. I’d rate it more like three or four stars.

The solid woodwork is the standout here: the floors, built-in furniture, beds, and more are all beautifully made. Check-in was handled efficiently by the man at reception, and breakfast was a generous homemade buffet. Right next door is an incredible traditional Romanian Restaurant with live music and memorable decor. Poiana Brasov is a small, pretty town, and I’d love to return in winter.
