Del Monte Predeal

The noise was a real problem for our group of about 50 people on an Erasmus project. The hotel sits between busy road traffic and train tracks, with trucks and trains passing through the night, so sleeping was hard. We also found stained replacement bed sheets that weren't in acceptable condition. For the first five days, the radiators stayed off even though it was around 4°C outside. After we asked several times, we were told gas was expensive and heating wasn't included, as though we'd have to pay extra for it. Once switched on, the radiators still didn't heat properly and were turned off overnight. Meals were repetitive, mostly chicken and potatoes, and at first the food was undercooked. One participant became sick after eating chicken that wasn't cooked through. The kitchen only began preparing it properly after repeated requests. Services were also gradually restricted during our stay, with complaints that we used “too many cups” or had “too much coffee” from the machine. It seemed like each day brought a new limit. Between the cold, food, noise, hygiene, and shrinking services, the stay was very uncomfortable, and many participants became ill. If you want to spend your days without constant trouble and restrictions, I'd leave this hotel as a last resort, or avoid considering it altogether.
