Sunset Villas

I booked this villa on booking.com two days before my holiday. Two hours before check-in, the host called to cancel because of heating and hot water problems she already knew about and couldn’t fix in time. They also say pets are allowed in the description, but the day after I booked, the host messaged to say I’d have to pay extra. Wouldn’t recommend.

The mattress felt like a museum piece, maybe from the Inquisition era. They’d need to give guests a massage every morning. If you don’t get up with the chickens, you might not get to wash: when I asked the receptionist about a shower, she told me to wait 20 minutes for the hot water to come. The POS doesn’t work, though you can pay with vouchers even if you booked through booking. The place doesn’t deserve a star, but I had to give it one to post this.

We were left without a place to stay, carrying our luggage, and nobody even let us know. We had a Booking reservation and called several times on check-in day to ask what to do, but nobody answered. We went there in person, and even though our booking hadn’t been cancelled, they told us everything was full. Once inside, we also noticed the shared kitchen was dirty, a sofa at the entrance to one of the villas was broken, and the staff weren’t polite.

Shameful. I booked by phone the day before and gave them my name, but when I arrived they said there were no rooms. I spent two hours waiting outside the guesthouse because nobody was at reception. The lady seemed irritated that I was bothering her, then told me over the phone that I hadn’t paid an advance and asked why she should hold rooms for me. She left us stranded on a weekend, when finding somewhere else to stay is hard. The yard was a mess too. 👎🏼
