We stayed as a family with our 7 yo, and all the staff were so sweet and accommodating with both us and our son. The hosts made us feel at home and really looked after us. We loved the delicious food and fairy-tale atmosphere, especially using the fireplace in the gazebo. It stayed pleasant in any weather, with good ventilation and lush vegetation around it. The rooms are quaint, with vintage furniture, while the facilities are modern and very well maintained. The location is gorgeous, and we can’t wait to visit again!

Breakfast was sensational, all fresh local food made with passion, and flavors I won’t forget. I woke up to birdsong, and the beautiful surroundings were perfect for walks, relaxing, and escaping the everyday bustle. Conacul Malul Alb is a real gem. I felt at home from the moment I arrived, or even better, like I was in a luxurious Romanian mansion with a soul. The hosts were warm, helpful, smiling, and attentive to the smallest details. The rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with modern comforts and traditional charm thought through in every detail. I wholeheartedly recommend Conacul Malul Alb to anyone looking for peace, beauty, and genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be back! See my clip.

The views are fantastic, and there’s a nice pool and interesting gardens. It’s a lovely guest house with friendly hosts and comfortable accommodation. It’s a bit of a drive out of town, but you do get there in the end!

We felt like we were visiting friends. The owners were the big surprise, so warm and open, and they told us so much about the plants, flowers, and trees. Their homemade food was delicious, and the local wine selection was just right. There are lots of tucked-away spots for relaxing, by the pool, pond, or wine cellar, and I especially liked the open-air living room with its fireplace. The accommodation was superb and the location amazing. Don’t be put off by reviews saying you need a 4x4. My car has very low clearance and access was easy. Probably one of the best spots in Romania. Highly recommended!

The views from this hilltop location are great, and there’s a pool for one family with a couple of sunbeds, plus a nice terrace and garden facilities. Access can be difficult without a 4x4 when it rains or in winter. The building is new but designed like an old mansion, and clearly took a major investment. The owners live there too. They do their best to provide good service, which I appreciated, and will cook meals you choose from the menu, including breakfast. There are plenty of local wine options, and the wine list is good, though priced like a restaurant. Food is also restaurant-priced, but cooked in-house by amateurs, and I didn’t think the taste justified the cost. The design and house rules felt restrictive. The rules say you have to pay to cook your own food, which makes me wonder why there’s a kitchen. Privacy can also be uncomfortable if the owners are in the living room just outside your door. Our room was an apartment with a stairway to the bedroom and bathroom. Downstairs it had a living room, kitchen, and a generous terrace. The Victorian-style room had hard wood furniture. The bathroom was too low for anyone taller than 1.70m, and the toilet was tucked under an angled ceiling at 1.20m. The ceiling height also meant only a small part of the bathroom was usable. The hard wood bed squeaked. Given the room prices, the restrictions, privacy, and limits on using the room facilities, I think it should cost 30% less. Location isn’t the most important part of a holiday for me. I’ve traveled in more than 40 countries and seen quite a few mansions, so I’d say this is an objective rating, 3 stars.
