Pension Valea Mariei

It’s peaceful here, a nice place to stay if you’re looking for quiet and tranquility. We were only here for one night. The room was spacious, and the balcony looked out over a magnificent valley, though it’s divided by a small wooden fence, so there’s no privacy. The staff don’t speak English. The food wasn’t the best or the worst. They have beautiful dogs, a football 5 field, and a pond. If I come back, I’d stay again, despite the food.

There’s a great view and a big playground, so it’s perfect for families with small kids. The rooms were clean and the food decent, though that could be improved. They could also add something between the balconies for privacy.

The staff were helpful and the service was great. Our room was spacious, with an excellent view of the valley. If you enjoy driving, it’s an ideal spot to stop overnight and rest.

Families with small children should enjoy the many activities and the romantic, laid back setting. There are lounge chairs, hammocks, live fish, and a great mountain view. One thing to watch at the restaurant: they “mistype” the total, charge small children’s plates at adult prices, and don’t give a receipt. I paid 130 lei for one soup and three main courses. Still, it’s a nice place, and I recommend it especially for families with little kids.
