Hotel Monteoru

The rooms are clean and simple, with fairly new furniture. The bathrooms have walk-in showers and enough space for a decent stay. The staff were pleasant, though there’s room for improvement. There’s no direct way into the water park next door, so you have to walk down the road to its main entrance. The hotel also has no elevator, which makes the stairs difficult for the many elderly pensioners staying there, especially with bags. They should either hire a couple of strong people to help carry luggage at check-in and check-out, or install an elevator.

Really exceptional.

I spent 12 days here on a 10-day treatment package. The hotel itself was okay and reasonably clean, but the owner should put money into improvements. The heating was badly managed. It got very hot in the evening, then was switched off during the day, which made things cold when you came back from treatments. The only real benefit was the treatment and salt baths, plus the effort the women in those offices put in to keep things running normally. The menu needs a serious review. Over three days out of a seven-day period, we had minced meat in different forms, and they used lots of frozen items, including schnitzel, fish croquettes, and vegetables. The meals weren’t balanced, the kitchen had a peculiar cooking style, and in my 12 days the same dishes came around twice and were poorly cooked. What a shame.
