Vila Mara

The dogs were left loose, and they were very aggressive. They bit my little brother, so we had to take him to the hospital. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The place also wasn’t very clean overall, and there was broken furniture and trouble with parking.

The setting is picturesque, the food is homemade, and everything was great. The amenities are more like 2 stars, but the hospitality deserves 5. The value for the price is very high. I may be biased since, after visiting several times, I’ve become friends with the owners.

The WiFi was advertised as available everywhere, but it only worked in one room. The kitchen and farmyard were very dirty, and we couldn’t find a clean pot. There was also a lot of meat left outside the fridge for days. On our last morning, we were served moldy bread. We later had serious stomach problems. The owner blamed us because we’d also eaten at restaurants, but about 30 other people ate at those restaurants without getting sick; only our group from Vila Mara had problems. We chose this place because it was supposed to have free parking inside. When we arrived, we found the driveway had collapsed, and nobody had told us. There was a temporary footbridge, but it didn’t feel safe and broke while one of us was standing on it. Fortunately, he wasn’t hurt and didn’t break his legs on the reinforcement wires. After all that, the host tried to get a good Booking review by selling his own wine, without even offering to reduce the cost. I can’t recommend this place.
