Hotel Perla

The room had plenty of space, but the bathroom was tiny and smelled bad. It was cold outside, and the heating only worked in the bathroom. I also found dust around the room and a large cobweb by the bed. The fridge needed plugging in, as did one of the two TV remotes; the other remote didn't work at all. Breakfast was worse than old-fashioned grandma cooking. A definite no.

Alexandra waited up for us even though we arrived close to 2 a.m., well after the 11 p.m. check-in time. She was incredibly accommodating, especially since I’d booked at the last minute while driving from Scotland to Romania with the children. The hotel has a very old-fashioned style, but our room was clean, and for what we paid, it was more than fair.

The rooms are nice and mostly spacious, with good bathrooms and a fridge in each one. WiFi had a strong signal everywhere. The downsides were the TV often losing signal on every channel and the hot water sometimes running out mid-shower, though it came back after a few seconds.

Breakfast is included, and the prices are low. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
