The owner was helpful and friendly, and we got keys so we could come back at any hour of the night. For the price of a room, we got a very large bedroom with the kitchen things we needed, including a kettle, small fridge, and cups, plus a big sitting room and a modern toilet. If we visit Satu Mare again, I'm sure I'll stay there.

A little more attention to small things would make this lovely accommodation even better. For example, a washing-up bowl and draining rack would be handy when there's not enough to justify running the dishwasher. Some of the electrical sockets were loose, too. It's very comfortable, quiet, secure, and close to the city centre. But I was concerned by the apparent lack of smoke alarms and a CO2 detector. Those seem like basic safety measures these days, and surely a basic EU standard.
