Casa Galbena

The food alone surprised me. It’s made at their own restaurant, the old Cherhanaua, and even though I don’t normally eat fish, I ate nothing else during my five days there. I had fish soup in all kinds of versions, as well as grilled and fried fish, including sea fish. The food was excellent. The people were incredibly hospitable and ready to help with anything, from the boat transfer to fishing spots and walks. The places are magnificent, from the Danube all the way to the beach by the sea. If I get the chance, I’ll come back. It’s worth it. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. Congratulations to the owner of the guesthouse, and keep it up.

The good points were the spacious yard, Mrs. Natalia’s kindness, and the location close to the center. But I’d only recommend this place to someone looking for cheap accommodation, nothing more. The furniture and linen are old and worn, and it looks like nothing has been invested in the place for over 15 years. There’s only one refrigerator for nine rooms, and the septic tank smell in building B was unpleasant. The terrace used to look good, but it’s now neglected. It’s far from the beach, about 3 km. Many times the trocar was stopped by police and DSP checks.

They took the money in advance, but the shared kitchen had no dishes or glasses, no corkscrew, and just one broken fridge reading 15 degrees. The rooms felt unfinished and stuffy. There’s a large yard, though it has very little shade. Breakfast was available only occasionally, and only if we insisted.

I’ve stayed here a few times for fishing on my own and with my family, and each visit has felt great. The accommodation is good, the food is excellent, and the staff are friendly.
