Hotel Apollo Central

The location is great, breakfast decent, and the rooms are ok. Clean enough.

Our worst stay. The room didn't look like the Booking photos, and we don't recommend the place. The broken radiator couldn't be turned off, and the room got so hot we felt like we might suffocate. We had to sleep with the window open because the AC wasn't working. Then, about two hours before checkout, they shut off the water for repairs without telling guests, so we left without showering. Staff did nothing about our complaints.

I was invited to Astra film festival as a filmmaker, and the festival had booked my room through Saturday morning. I contacted them and they confirmed that. But the hotel management said they wanted to give my room to the manager's guests, so I had to leave. I was busy with a program and rushed back to the hotel. When I got there, my belongings had been gathered by cleaners and shoved into ugly black plastic bags. People had handled my things, my toothbrush was mixed in with my shoes, and everything else was in bags. The receptionist claimed the reservation had only been made that morning, which wasn't true. I later learned the owner has a football team, and when his guests or players arrive, guests may be removed from their rooms if the hotel is full. I went to Astra film festival as a filmmaker, and they booked the room until Saturday morning, not Friday. It's completely unacceptable for hotel staff to enter a guest's room and handle their belongings, violating their privacy. It's shocking that they felt entitled to grab my things and put them in garbage bags. It's humiliating that they claim they had the right to do this. Future guests at Hotel Apollo should know this can happen. Make your reservation to Hotel Apollo according to these facts.

We waited two hours for towels after arriving, then another 15 minutes for hot water before I could shower. There was no shower gel, and water covered the bathroom floor despite the shower doors being closed, since there was no insulation. The TV remote had no batteries either. The room wasn't properly clean, and this was my worst hotel stay. I wouldn't recommend it. At this price, you can find a nice, clean Airbnb apartment.
