The countryside around Casa Simion, near Sibiu, is beautiful and quiet. Kamala runs the place and looked after me so kindly. She’s a lovely little Nepalese lady. I went in winter, so things like the pool and sauna weren’t available, but the room was comfortable, breakfast was good, and I enjoyed the conversations and atmosphere. The butter is homemade and the food products are fresh. It must be lovely here in summer. There’s a lot of space, and I can picture coming with friends to have a party. There’s a room set aside for that, with nothing nearby to disturb anyone. I recommend staying here, and thank Kamala for taking care of me. One warning, she drives a buggy that might be about 20 times bigger than she is, so watch out!

The backyard and party room are lovely, and there’s a nice pool. The rooms, though, were dirty, and the beds felt low quality and were extremely noisy.

We booked the entire place, then found out on the day we arrived that the owner had also booked a room through Booking. We asked several times for him to move those guests, but he wouldn’t. If you’re looking for privacy, I can’t recommend this place. After we checked out, the owner accused us of damaging the property. When we asked for video or photos as proof, he sent an old photo of a broken TV. The damaged TV in the room he specifically referred to was white, but the TV in the photo was black. I asked for the date and time the picture was taken, and he wouldn’t show me. I wonder why? 🤥 The whole experience felt unprofessional, disrespectful to customers, and unreliable.
