Hotel Imparatul Romanilor

The staff were professional, polite, and attentive throughout our stay, and the food was good. Breakfast had a varied buffet. The hotel is an old building in the heart of Sibiu’s historic center, so the location is excellent. Rooms are standard in size, with some laid out over two levels. The furniture is dated and a bit worn, though cleanliness was acceptable.

The location is right in the city center, and the room was very nice and clean. This is one of Romania’s oldest hotels, with plenty of history and character. The hotel and rooms have a royal, 60s to 70s vintage look. It’s a little outdated, but that classic style may be your thing. Breakfast was very good and varied. The spa was okay, though the pool water was a bit too cold. Parking is free, but there aren’t many spots, so arriving late at night might mean you can’t find one.

Breakfast was good, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating when we needed different things for our small baby. Being able to check out as late as 2 PM for free was a nice bonus. The hotel is in the city center, handy for heading out to the square and restaurants. The pool area is small but workable for families with older children. It didn’t seem ideal for children a year old or younger. The pool floor can get slippery, so take care, and the maximum depth is 1.60 meters.

The location is great, the staff are nice, and breakfast is good. It’s a shame the hotel needs renovation, because the whole decor could be amazing. The bathrooms are old, the doors don’t close, the beds squeak, the windows are ancient, and the rooms don’t have enough electrical outlets. The spa should close as soon as possible. The water is dirty, there’s mold in the showers, the Turkish sauna stinks, and the wood in the Finnish sauna is brown.
