At least the room was spacious and clean, with cutlery, dishes, a flat stove, a fridge, and a coffee machine for cooking. But we had a rough five-day stay. Our room was directly above a carwash, where people argued loudly and often, so it wasn’t quiet. The hallway motion sensor was broken and kept switching on and off every 30 seconds all night, making a little popping noise that bothered us and made it hard to fall asleep. We contacted the hotel staff after the first night, but got no reply. There was also a constant smoke smell that got into our clothes. They didn’t restock the room during the final two days, and we ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night. That was Friday night, and checkout wasn’t until Sunday.

The room and accommodation were exactly what I wish I’d found at almost every place I’ve traveled, at the level of a 3-star hotel. It’s a top destination in this city, I suppose. The furniture and bathroom were nice, the kitchen was well equipped, and you can really feel the money went toward making guests comfortable. It’s 50 meters from the center and near the museum of comunism. I can’t find anything bad about the place itself, even though the view is bad. The surroundings are another matter. There’s no view at all, and a noisy car wash sits across the street, at most 7 meters away, running all day.

You get an apartment here, not just a room, with your own kitchen and everything you might need. It’s a nice, unconventional hotel if you prefer not to be bothered. There’s no room service, and the Wi-Fi isn’t great, though manageable.

It’s right in the city center and really clean, so I highly recommend it. After we went into the wrong room by mistake, the staff weren’t very polite about the misunderstanding.
