For a solo traveler on a budget, having a private room at a good price felt priceless. It covered the basics I needed, a place to sleep and shower, so set your expectations accordingly. My only issue was a funky smell on the sheets. Maybe it was the detergent, or maybe it was just my nose. If you’re looking for an affordable stay, I recommend it.

Check-in and checkout were easy, and they even provide drinkable tap water. I had a comfortable bed and pillow, and everything was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, plus there’s foosball and ping pong. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. We really enjoyed our time and would recommend it. It’s a nice place to relax for a longer stay, too.

It has a cozy medieval feel, and everything works. Just keep in mind that it’s up a hill, which could be a struggle with big luggage, and there’s no laundry service. My room was far from the boiler, so the water took 2-3 minutes to heat up. The kitchen is small and has no stove, but it does have a fridge, microwave, toaster, and electric kettle.

I had a valid reason for cancelling my reservation, though I know it was my fault for booking a non-refundable deal. I cancelled 10 accommodations in different Romanian cities on the same trip, and 9 of them refunded me. Guess who didn’t?

The price is great, and my stay wasn’t bad, but it’s a very humble place with old furniture. The hostel is quite old, and some parts clearly need maintenance. Its strong points are the location, the quiet inside, and a clean bed.
