There’s no breakfast included at Casa Morar, but that didn’t bother me. You can eat just 3 meters away, or walk a little farther to other restaurants. The place itself is quiet and cozy, right in Sighisoara's Old Center, and on a clear night you can see the stars.

Even when it’s scorching outside, the rooms stay so cool that I had to wrap myself up to sleep at noon. The house is 500 years old, and the host has kept its traditional features.

This is a good fit if you want to experience an authentic old period setting, rather than anything futuristic. The courtyard and rooms have lots of character, with objects from medieval times. The building is considered a historical monument, so there are limits on what renovations can be done. The bathroom doesn’t offer much privacy, though the host is extremely attentive and generous about making rooms available. I recommend it for a special experience.
