Pensiunea Fagilor

There’s a lovely garden behind the house, plus a terrace and a playground for children. Adults can use the tennis court, and there’s plenty of parking both out front and in the back yard. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a terrace on the first level and balconies in some rooms. Inside, the place feels both warm and elegant, with generous living and restaurant areas. The food was great, though we missed the traditional Bucovina dishes. The designer clearly loves classic furniture, which shows throughout the main spaces.

The wooden restaurant out back serves pizza, traditional Romanian food, and breakfast. The hotel itself is spacious and clean. Our room felt a bit warm during the summer heat wave, and, as you might expect in the countryside, there were dogs and roosters.

The dinner and breakfast terrace in the garden is lovely, and the rooms are roomy with beautiful classic furniture. The food was delicious, especially the oven-baked pancakes, but service fell short. We ordered two bottles of water, two portions of chicken and mushroom ciulama (white sauce), and four pancake servings. Only one of each arrived, and the food took a long time to come. At 30 lei, one portion of ciulama also felt a little pricey. The place is in a beautiful region.

The rooms are lovely, set in a large garden with a view. The traditional food is great, desserts included.
