Pension La Cupola

The restaurant was the highlight of our stay at La Cupola. The food was delicious and impeccable every time, and we looked forward to coming back for dinner after our day trips. The rear garden was a lovely place to spend time. Service was good overall: some waiters were less mannerly, but most, especially the ladies, were polite and helpful. Our room was clean and welcoming at check-in, with a comfortable bed, and it was fine overall. Still, a few things need repair or replacement. The AC struggled on hot August evenings, and perhaps the vintage TVs could be replaced. The bigger issue was that the room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, even though we put the sign on the door asking for service. They didn’t even empty the bin. Some towels were okay, while others really needed replacing.

The free breakfast included coffee, eggs, bacon, toast, salad, butter, and jam. Our room had a sitting area with a pullout couch, while the bedroom had two small beds and a TV. There was also a jacuzzi in the bathroom, which felt great after a long drive. The hotel itself is nice, but be aware that the restaurant next door has live music on Fridays and Saturdays until 2AM, so sleep may have to wait.

The restaurant serves really tasty traditional food. The rooms were pretty much okay, though they seemed a bit expensive for the price and location. The AC also has an issue in at least some rooms.

We’re heading home tomorrow, and I’m sad to leave. We hope to come back soon. The staff were lovely, friendly, and very helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the location was quiet but convenient. A perfect choice for our stay.
