I came back after a year, and I won’t be returning. The place felt like a money-laundering operation, with odd design choices that came across as kitsch. The air conditioning didn’t work, it wasn’t very clean, and guests had to make the beds themselves. The staff came across as self-important and unprofessional. Better to stay elsewhere.

The place was spotless and everything looked brand new. It’s about a 25-minute walk from the old town, with shops and even a swimming pool nearby. The kitchen was fully equipped except there was no kettle. There’s no elevator, which didn’t bother me. The bedrooms got quite hot since the air conditioning is only in the living room. Still, it’s a nice place to stay and I can recommend it :)

We had travelled from London for a short family break, but our prebooked stay fell apart at check-in. They would not let us in because reception is only available until 11 p.m., and no one is there after that. I had sent our arrival time and received a confirmation email from 1 hotels, but was then told it wasn’t an official hotel document. We spent the night in a taxi searching for somewhere else to stay, as most nearby hotels were full. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

Really clean, with friendly staff, good coffee choices at the bar, and a tasty breakfast. The standard felt like five stars and the price was great. Just remember that apart hotels are usually self-catering and self-cleaning. If you need those services, make that clear and check whether they cost extra.
