FreeBorn Hostel

The owner Raul and his wife Laura are mega cool, and I recommend this place. It’s right in the city center, with lots of shops and restaurants close by. The beds and mattresses were comfortable, and I could really rest here. There are three toilets and three shower rooms, so I never had to wait. I also met interesting people from different parts of the world. This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at!

There’s a lovely enclosed patio with trees for shade, right in the heart of Timișoara. Raul runs the hostel well and gives professional, excellent customer service. It’s very clean and has plenty of amenities. Hector was a big help arranging transportation for my trip to Brasov. What a neat hostel setup, and I don’t have enough good things to say about the team. I’ll be back.

My bus arrived extremely late at night, and Hector still waited for me and marked up a map with recommendations. The staff really go out of their way to help, and the location is superb. The only downside is the heat, though it’s manageable in summertime. Freeborn Hostel felt like home, with very clean rooms, friendly people, amazing staff, and a wonderful common area both inside and out. Everyone staying there seemed to extend their stay because it was so nice. If you come to Timisoara, stay here!

The location is good, and all in all we liked our stay. There’s a nice backyard where guests gather, plus a good kitchen and indoor lounge. The hostel has what a backpacker needs. We didn’t get the welcome shot, and there was no map or anyone around to help. I guess the owner wasn’t there while we stayed.
