Hostel Costel Timisoara

It’s about 1km from the city center, but it’s a nice walk. The place is a bit old and not the best, though they do try to keep everything clean. Staff are friendly, it’s pet friendly, and there’s somewhere secure to store a bicycle. The showers are always warm, the wifi is great with a few access points, and there are places to relax in the garden.

The staff made the stay feel special, they were warm-hearted and so cheerful. The facilities are great, the beds are comfortable, and the backyard is awesome. And Bronco the dog was lovely company. I loved it, thanks for a great time.

The shared bathroom downstairs is the main downside: it's unisex, with less privacy, and it could be cleaner. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and it's usually quiet, with friendly staff and easy access even at night. The location is fairly central, about a 10-minute walk from the local bus to the airport.

We spent a lot of time sitting around the fire, and even out of season the hostel had a great atmosphere. The owners clearly put their heart into the place. Staff were incredibly helpful and spoke perfect English. There's a local food market and bakery five minutes away, handy in the mornings, and the city centre is a 20-minute walk.
