The hotel's location is good, but that doesn't help much when the rooms are so outdated, dirty, and falling apart. I stayed one night with friends and had the worst experience in Romania. Bed bugs terrified me. Beware of bugs.

The full bed turned out to be two small beds pushed together, with a gap in the middle. The room itself was clean, the hot water worked, and both the TV and mini fridge were fine. The entrance door felt a bit shaky.
I got to Timisoara in the morning, with my train not leaving until late at night, so I asked Hostel Nord if I could leave my backpack there while I walked around town. They said yes, and the staff were so friendly. While I was sitting in the lobby, they even offered to charge my phone. Great people, thank you!
The room was basic but okay. I was surprised to find that, despite being called a hostel, it was actually a hotel, and it's the only one next to the train station. I missed my train at night, and the receptionist shouted after me because I looked dumb and lost. It was a big expense for only two hours of sleep, but I didn't want to stay outside alone. Not nice. Weird place. 💩
The room was clean, though the furniture was old, and my booking hadn't shown up in their web service. The hotel is handy for the Timisoara train station, but the historical centre is about a 15-minute walk away. Be careful at night, the area around the hotel is dangerous.
