Hotel Strelitia

A clean, welcoming place to stay, near the city center. The staff were very nice and helpful.

The location is good, and some of the staff try to help, but only a few speak English. That's about the only good thing I can say, and I'd advise avoiding the hotel. The rooms and the rest of the interior are outdated and poorly maintained. Shower water pressure was extremely low, and the heating wasn't working, even though the receptionist kept assuring us it would start any minute.

The food at breakfast was so sparse that a normal meal was hard to put together. The buffet plates were empty, and there was no water, juice or coffee. The bread seemed to be several days past its date, the vegetables were dried out, and I never even saw any fruit. Staff checked whether used towels were in good condition and whether guests had smoked in their rooms, yet the towels were not replaced. The claims being made about this hotel feel like words on paper from people who have never stayed here. This is shameful management, if it can even be called a hotel. I mean this as constructive criticism: guests should be listened to, and the service could be improved to make their stays better. First-time guests might still give it a chance, but those of us who have already stayed here will not return.

Sleep was very difficult during my stay. On several nights, student groups partied and kept me awake, so I wouldn't recommend this place to people who need rest for work. Cleanliness also fell short: more than once, I arrived to find hairs in the bed. My car was damaged in the hotel parking area one day, and although there was video surveillance, they refused to show us the recording.
