Mercure Timisoara

The staff were very nice, and the food was good. I had Transylvanian soup and papanași. The interior design is really unique, and the room is hi-tech, with touch-sensitive light switches. Finding the right buttons to turn all the lights off was quite a challenge, but it was fun 😀

The automated room features are presented as a selling point, but the gadgets don't work. The AC doesn't work either, and while they pride themselves on cleanliness, the carpet is filthy and dirty. The modern design doesn't make the price reasonable: you can find the same accommodations in the city for half as much. They also promote hospitality, yet management ignores complaints about the safety of paying guests. Based on their content, the three-star and lower reviews should really be one-star reviews. Customers were just being polite, but future guests deserve a true picture before booking.

The restaurant had a great vibe and a wide selection, the signature cocktails were fantastic, and the bar team were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was modern, stylish, spotless, and well equipped, with convenient guest parking and a quick check-in. The lady at reception was exceptionally kind and professional. Most of the staff were professional and welcoming. One small thing took away from the experience: at breakfast, the waiter was having his own meal when he asked for our room number, which was surprising for a place of this standard. We had an excellent stay, would happily return, and highly recommend it.

Parking is available, and the hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the city centre. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy, and the staff were friendly. The rooms felt modern and spacious, though the pillows were uncomfortable enough to keep the stay from being excellent.
