We got good value, and the location is great with free parking. We visited over Easter, when the pool was covered. Our room was great, but the air conditioning wouldn’t cool it down, so opening the window at night was the only way to make it cooler. Breakfast was disappointing. On the first morning, we arrived an hour before service ended and hardly any food was left; the coffee machine worked only intermittently. We came earlier on day two, but the food still wasn’t great and the eggs were hard. I wouldn’t call this a four-star hotel.

The location was excellent, and the breakfast and service were good. Some rooms need attention, though. There are no refrigerators, the bathrooms have no hooks for towels or robes, and some of the beds should be replaced. Still, I had a good experience overall.

Our reservation was unusable because the hotel was closed, so we had to find and book somewhere else for the night. Even more ridiculous, neither instance, trip.com nor the Perla hotel wants to refund the booking. This was my first experience with trip.com, and it will be my last.

The staff really are nice, but there don’t seem to be enough of them. Our room wasn’t cleaned, and getting coffee in the morning could take a long time, depending on how many guests were there, since only one person was serving. The air conditioning doesn’t work, making an August stay very hot and sticky. Bathroom ventilation was broken too, the minibar was empty, and the bins were emptied only once in four days. It’s a shame, because the hotel has potential and a good location, but management may need to change. I won’t stay here again. There are many other options in town.
