Pensiunea Edy Turda

We stopped in for lunch and had an amazing traditional Romanian dish. The meat was tender and delicious, and mămăligă was a great discovery. The lemonade was outstanding.

The waitress was very rude and didn’t speak English. The fries arrived cold and stale, and the portions were too small for adults.

The staff and service were fantastic, and the rooms were clean, though on the small side. The gardens and grounds were well kept. Food was tasty, good value, and there was plenty of variety across all three meals. The beds and pillows were clean but quite hard and uncomfortable. There were swarms of mosquitoes around the grounds and in the rooms, too. The same loud music, with what sounded like ‘80s songs, played on repeat for all four days.

The garden at the back is beautiful, and the hotel is pretty close to the salt mine. The rooms were good, and breakfast was okay, especially the eggs Benedict, which turned out well. The restaurant was a total letdown. I ordered a Thai dish with rice, but the rice seemed like it had been cooked a week earlier and microwaved for ten minutes. It was like eating sand or rocks. The Thai food seemed as close to Thailand as a magazine in the hotel. The restaurant needs a new chef and staff.
