Salis Hotel and Medical Spa

The staff were very friendly and especially kind to our small child. The location was good too, about a 10-minute walk from the old entrance to the mine and 20 minutes from the small city center. Those were among the very few good things for us. We chose this place mainly because of the pool, then found out just two days before arrival that it would be closed for planned maintenance for our entire stay. That left too little time to cancel and book somewhere else. Since the work was planned, they knew in advance and could have told us sooner. I suspect they held back for fear of losing customers. There was no compensation, and we heard more excuses and justifications than apologies. The soups were good, but the main courses were quite bland. One of the pricier things I ordered, a pork cutlet, was questionable in quality and taste. It came as random, dry, bad-tasting pieces of meat with no sauce, plus a separate piece of polenta that tasted like sand and two pieces of cheap white cheese. The price was unjustified. The safest bet seems to be the kids' menu, like schnitzel and fries. Parking is outside the hotel grounds, beneath tall trees full of crows, so you may find a few bird souvenirs on your car in the morning. Unfortunately, we can't see this as our regular family holiday spot in Turda. We'll try somewhere else next time.

I've been there a couple of times with my dad to eat at the hotel's restaurant. Miss Timea gave us great service, and we had ciorba de burta. God bless! JESUS IS KING!

I stayed in the newly renovated section of this comfortable, luxurious hotel. The room was large and renovated, and the bathroom had been refurbished. Have a look at the furniture, especially the bed's headboard, where the faux leather is crumbling. I didn't try the spa, though it's supposedly the hotel's main attraction.

I only went to the spa and restaurant, so I can't comment on the rooms. The spa feels like a hospital, with no warmth or charm, and there's no staff to show you where to go, so it's easy to get lost. The pool is decent, the salt-water whirlpool is really nice, and I enjoyed the 30-minute massage from Gabriela.
