Grauri si Smochini

The host was so warm and helpful, and everything was super clean. We had a really relaxing time soaking up the sun here. Can't wait to come back! ❤️

A little sunny corner of Eden, with fig trees and books.

Those enormous fig trees were a treat, with fresh figs each day and enough shade to sit outside even in the heat. There's also a covered terrace, plus a sheltered veranda for evenings when it gets chilly. The apartments had what we needed: a small kitchen, private bathroom with a toilet and hot shower, and a bedroom with a double bed and a single one. We came to see the Romanian Black Sea coast away from the busy tourist scene, and Grauri și Smochini suited that well. The sea was warm, though there were sometimes larger jellyfish around, which were harmless. We were welcomed warmly and Daniel was helpful but also gave us space. He was flexible about our timing, and we were given a jar of homemade fig jam. We'd love to return for another seaside visit.

The quiet here was lovely, with only the starlings, pigeons, and blackbirds to hear. The rooms stayed cool without air conditioning, the beds were comfortable, and the linen was spotless. Conditions were immaculate, and the gazebos had natural shade. The hosts were wonderful and discreet. We'll be remembering the old pines and fig trees, and hope to come back.
