Mira by Atra

Breakfast was generous and really good, with local products. There’s no restaurant here, though: meals are served at Atra, the fancier main guesthouse across the lake, about five minutes away by car. The pension is in an easy-to-reach spot off a short unpaved road, and has two floors of rooms and suites. My room was called Har, as they use lovely names instead of numbers. It was simple, with a small bathroom, water, tea and a coffee machine. The mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable for me. Outside there’s a pool, chairs and loungers, a playground, a pavilion with board games and TV, mountain bikes for guests, and stairs down to the lake. All in all, a good stay that I’d recommend for a short visit.

The view and setting are lovely, and getting there is easy. The staff, rooms and facilities were all great, with everything we needed. They have a friendly dog who’s so quiet we barely noticed it.

Our main issue was the food arrangement. Only breakfast is served here, and for dinner, snacks or any other meal they provide transport to ATRA. With young kids, making that trip twice a day is difficult. I also don’t think it’s fair to forbid bringing in food from elsewhere. I understand that you offer a fine dining experience, but some of us just want a nice, long holiday and don’t need fine dining every day. There aren’t many nearby places to eat, so what are we supposed to do, choose somewhere else next time?
