Hotel Yara

My colleague found the latch on her room door broken. Staff accused us of causing the damage and treated us horribly. The facility itself was beautiful and close to Mocanita, and the rest of the experience had been positive, but after we said we would never destroy their property, we were left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. They showed no trust or consideration for us as clients. I’ll never return. Be careful here. If something’s wrong with your room, they may ask you to pay for it.

The pools and restaurant were highlights for me. The water was clean and heated, with dry and wet saunas, a salt-mine themed room, a salty pool, hot and cold contrast pools, two jacuzzi pools, and a larger one for easy swimming. The restaurant serves hearty, tasty food with plenty of choice, and its covered outdoor seating is heated for winter. For a 3-star hotel in this country, it went beyond what I expected. The staff are welcoming and well trained, the rooms are clean and roomy enough, and there’s useful storage, a TV, mini-fridge, and easy-to-reach outlets by the beds. I liked the balcony with its table, chairs, and ashtray. The furniture has a rustic look without seeming worn out, and bathrobes are included. A few things could be better. The bathroom is small and its door opens inward, the mattress is quite firm, and there’s no complimentary tea or coffee. It’s a working mini-fridge, not a minibar. You do have to go outdoors to reach the pool building, though there are lockers there and you don’t need to walk over in a bathrobe. An indoor connection between the buildings would be a nice addition. I’d recommend staying here if you’re nearby or visiting local attractions.

We’ve spent the weekend here four times now. The facilities are excellent, the service is good, and the food is good too. 🙂👍

Yara is a lovely hotel and spa in a peaceful part of town, with mountain views all around. The staff are very friendly, and the place is clean. We liked the patio and the restaurant food, and breakfast was included and really good. If you’re staying in the area, I’d choose Yara. Thank you!
