Pensiune Restaurant La Cassa

We had dinner at La Cassa in Vișeu de Sus. The drinks were good and service was generally fine, but the meal fell short of what we expected. Portions were extremely large, which may suit some people, though we found them excessive and a little wasteful. The schnitzels were okay, but the fries were overcooked and too oily. I ordered sarmale expecting a traditional local dish, but it was very heavy and greasy. I felt unwell afterward and was sick during the night. There’s potential here, and I hope the kitchen gives more care to preparation and portion sizes.

The rooms were clean, bright, and cozy, and the service was great. Friendly staff, plus good food and a nice vibe in the restaurant!

We didn’t expect to come across such a great restaurant. The food was delicious, the portions were huge, and the atmosphere was nice. One of the best restaurants we’ve been to. We’ll come back.

Breakfast was included and had a wonderful range of really tasty options. We also ate dinner there, and noticed people coming in to dine even when they weren’t staying at the accommodation, which says a lot about the food. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It had all the amenities except a towel rack in the bathroom, but that wasn’t a big issue.
