The road up is dirt and gets pretty narrow in places. You’re also a little way from anywhere else, so bring any particular food or drinks you want. There’s nowhere nearby to buy them. Once you’re there, it’s wonderfully quiet at the top of the hill, and the balcony had a stunning view of the Carpathian Mountains. We loved sitting outside in the evenings. My wife and I began our enchanting trip through Transylvania here, and the attentive staff were always ready to bring a drink to our private balcony or the shared terrace. Dinner was very good. The goulash stood out, rich and tomato-y with generous pieces of beef, and the salads made a nice balance. The Romanian style crepes were outstanding for dessert. The animals on the property were cute and friendly too. It’s a lovely base to unwind, be in nature, and get close to great hiking in the nearby national park.

S and her team made our hiking break amazing, cooking delicious homemade dinners and breakfast. They also had plenty of homemade wine and schnapps, and the homemade chilli sauce was mind blowing. We stayed for two nights. The rooms were spacious, modern, well kitted out, and had a bit of a ski lodge feel.

We really valued the quiet and the clean air during our great vacation. The views were lovely, the food excellent, and the wi-fi worked well too.

The food was delicious, and the lovely ladies even packed sandwiches for us the night before our hike. We slept well in a comfortable bed, and the quality furniture and windows helped keep noise from other potentially loud tourists out once the door was closed. Most people followed the no loud noise policy. It’s a lovely spot in a beautiful location, though the road is quite difficult to drive and better suited to SUVs.
