Avangarda Suites

There’s no one to speak to in person, just keys left on the door and contact through WhatsApp. No service and no breakfast. These six suites are on the second floor of a building with what I think is a bar and dance floor downstairs, since loud music made it very noisy, though I’m not sure what was actually inside. This is more like an Airbnb rental than a hotel and should be listed on rental apps instead. I wouldn’t recommend it as a hotel at all.

Miljana was a great host, super helpful whenever we needed anything or had questions. When I lost my phone during our stay, she even took time to bring me to the police station and help translate. Everyone was really friendly and willing to accommodate us. My fiancée and I had an amazing two weeks here, with really nice rooms and lots of affordable restaurants nearby. There’s also a gym, though I couldn’t use it because I hadn’t brought workout clothes. If you’re not from Serbia, I’d advise using their taxi service. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Serbia. Thanks for everything.

The main thing to keep in mind is the live music, which went on until 24:00. Otherwise, it was an affordable, luxurious place with all the amenities, including air conditioning, a Nespresso machine, and good internet. It’s in the center of Belgrada and easy to drive to. I called before our trip from the Netherlands to Turkey with my son and spoke with Ms. Milana. She was cheerful and welcoming, and everything was ready for us. I’ll definitely come back.

The room itself was okay, though the lighting was poor, the bathroom faucet wobbled, the doorknobs kept falling off, and the old shower head didn’t work properly. The entrance to the old building was weird and creepy, with no lights at all, so you need a flashlight at night. It was also hard to find the exact location. The photos on Booking make the place look much more luxurious and fancy than it is in person. The accommodation is called Avangarda Suites, not Skyfall. Skyfall is the rooftop pool, which also looks much better in photos.
