The Geneks tower block is 135 meters tall and is among Eastern Europe’s most unusual buildings. It was meant to become a new symbol of Serbia, and its shape resembles a large gate welcoming tourists from the west, which is where the Western Belgrade Gate name comes from. Tourists have photographed it many times. There used to be a restaurant at the top with a view. Today, the tower block is in bad condition.

The plate is in really poor condition.

It has a lot of potential, but it’s been neglected and had almost no purpose for far too long.

A symbol of socialist urban planning in western Belgrade.
