Holiday Inn Belgrade by IHG

For visitors, the location is the main drawback. There isn't anywhere to eat within walking distance, so you'll need a taxi to go elsewhere. I went to old Belgrade, which has many more options, since New Belgrade is mostly residential. The Pink Taxi app worked well, but you still have to pay by card in the car after the ride. I'd suggest staying in old Belgrade instead, where the sights, shops, and restaurants are. The hotel itself is fine, but its location doesn't make for a very enjoyable visit. It was my first stay here. I hadn't expected much from a Holiday Inn, and it was okay. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was fairly small but acceptable, and the bathroom was a little old but clean and fine. The bed wasn't very comfortable, perhaps because it was older and didn't offer much back support. Breakfast was decent enough, though the selection was limited. The gym was small and had older equipment, with only a limited choice of dumbbells. The 'Smith machine' didn't work properly: the bar scraped against the poles instead of moving smoothly, so it wasn't suitable for exercise.

Several bus and tram stops nearby make it easy to get around, and taxis are surprisingly affordable and convenient. The hotel is some distance from Old Belgrade, but I chose it for a congress at Sava Center because it's well placed for getting to the venue. I also like hotels in the IHG group. The building is quite new, with spacious rooms that have everything you might need. The beds were comfortable and I slept really well. Service was good, and the attentive staff answered my questions and took care of my requests. Breakfast was good too, with tasty food and a pleasant dining area.

The hotel isn't very close to the City Center, though it does have a generous parking lot. I was there for a conference and had a very nice experience. The elegant venue had well-equipped conference rooms for synchronous translation, and the networking area was great. My room was big, clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly, and everyone I spoke with spoke good English.

This was the worst hotel I've stayed in. Reception staff communicated very badly with customers and caused problems instead of helping. The food was a complete fiasco: the meat and meatballs were dry and overcooked, and breakfast was mediocre. There weren't even basics like salt, pepper, or olive oil on the table. My room wasn't cleaned. When I asked the staff for at least some towels, I was told, unfortunately, that there were none left. I'm sure there are many nice hotels in the area, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this one.
