Privilege Suites by Central Park

There are bistros right outside for food, and Republic Square and the heart of old Belgrade are close by, so the location is ideal. The room isn’t large, but it has the basics I needed: a safe, kettle, and fridge. The air-conditioning worked great, and for the price, it’s hard to complain.

The location worked well for us, within walking distance of the city center, and the room itself was clean. But we chose this place expecting the comfort of a 4-star hotel, and the room we got was in a separate building, with little resemblance to the photos. The bathroom and shower cabin were different too, and there weren’t even slippers. We’d also expected the card system and standard-looking rooms shown online to feel safe, but on our last night we found two men snoring on the corridor floor outside the rooms in that other building. Reception replied to our message with just, “Thank you for letting us know.” The curtains were so thin that we couldn’t get dressed with the lights on, even when they were drawn. We had to keep switching the lights off. All these differences and the security concern left us hugely disappointed.

Best of all was the location. The hotel was clean, the staff were polite and helpful, and noise cancellation was great.

The suite was beautifully furnished, and having a Jacuzzi tub made the stay feel indulgent. The staff looked after me from the start: they met me at my car, arranged airport pickup, and carried my luggage to the room. In the heart of Belgrade, Privilege Suites is surrounded by shopping, good restaurants, museums, and art galleries. It made for a comfortable, memorable stay in this historic city, one of Europe's oldest and most inspiring destinations.
