Hostel Trajan

For a low price, this simple hostel gives a cyclist the basics: a comfortable bed, drinking water, a kitchen space, and somewhere beside the bed to charge devices. The owner was friendly and gave us useful tips about that evening’s festival and somewhere to eat.

We stayed for three days with our labrador, and the place was affordable and pet friendly. The staff and owner were lovely, and everything was as agreed. The hostel has dorm rooms with six or eight beds, plus three cabins in the backyard and two bathrooms. I’d recommend it.

The man working there was really kind and helpful, and I’m grateful to him. The host, though, was nervous and unpleasant when we arrived. He shouted at us, and we couldn't check in for half an hour because he kept shouting. He doesn’t know how to speak to guests. He had helped us with the invitation letter beforehand, which made his behavior even stranger. I wouldn’t recommend staying here to relax, since it left us more nervous instead. The room was far too cramped for three people, let alone 14, with only a tiny window and no air conditioning. There’s a little outdoor kitchen, a nice shared living room, and several bathrooms, which were useful. The beach is close, but it was dirty and the water was covered in grass.

Momir was so kind and helpful, and I have to mention his great taste in music. The hostel is cheap and relaxed, with good wifi downstairs, tea and coffee, and a nice vibe. It’s simple but really lovely. I had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone stopping in Donji Milanovac. Thanks again!
