Stobex Hotel

Works well for a business trip.

The pool area is a real plus: there’s a large pool by the building with the rooms, a few modest but fun slides, and a separate toddler pool with little slides. The hotel also has a nicely decorated, huge wedding hall that can suit meetings for around 50-300 people. It’s set farther from the rooms, which helps since the music can get loud. The rooms themselves are decent, though nothing special, and reception is in a different building, away from them. WiFi is free and open, and there’s a decent parking lot. Since other businesses are nearby, various strangers come and go, so security could be a concern, though probably not a major one. One downside is the signage.

The internet works fine, and that was the only good point for me. Don’t expect much from the food either. The rooms let in road noise and every sound from the neighbors, as if they were talking right to you. Smoking seems to go on everywhere, even in rooms, bathrooms and the restaurant marked non-smoking. The ashtray sitting in the middle of a room with a non-smoking sign on the door says a lot about how little the hotel cares.

The room service was unbelievably good, and food service was quick and friendly. I was satisfied with the stay. SOBOTEX, thanks! The place itself is really nice, though having live music and parties every day was too much for me. If you’re after a relaxed atmosphere, this probably isn’t the place.
