Ambasador Hotel

With its central location, own parking, friendly staff, and lovely big rooms, this is easily the best hotel in Niš. Breakfast was very good and the service excellent.

The breakfast was excellent, and I really had nothing to complain about. Rooms are well equipped, with a fantastic view from the upper floors, and the hotel is perfectly placed in the city center. The gym is large and has state-of-the-art equipment, with everything you need and more. The wellness area is outstanding, especially for a business hotel. You can also rent the top floor for conferences and larger meetings. For me, it's the best hotel in the city.

Breakfast was fabulous, with delicious, creative vegan choices like zucchini pie and gratinated mushrooms. I also liked the premium room's design, its panoramic view across the city from the 15th floor, and the smart air conditioning that adjusted automatically when we were there. The kettle and coffee machine were welcome too. Some maintenance details took away from the comfort: the nightstand leaned against the bed, the shower dripped, a glass panel was missing from the cupboard, the mirror was cracked, and there were no slippers.

The staff are very nice, the rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The location is hard to beat, and breakfast was average but fine. But the claim on the website that it's non-smoking throughout isn't true. Smoking indoors is still common in Serbia, and here the lobby and restaurant are smoky; it drifts through the ventilation onto the non-smoking floors and gets into the whole place.
