Hotel Emro

After six long hours on the road, we were looking forward to a break and to trying the food at the restaurant, which the hotel had posted so many photos of. Instead, we arrived to an empty place. The front door was open, but the restaurant was freezing and deserted, with just an unattended mobile phone on a table. Our voices echoed through it. Upstairs, we couldn’t find anyone either. The Wi-Fi was open, so we tried calling the owner several times and messaging on WhatsApp, but got no response. Even three hours after we arrived, we still hadn’t heard anything. I hope they were okay. We waited outside on the doorstep, where it was warmer than inside. Then three young people appeared from the building. One rode off on a motorbike and nearly hit an oncoming car. Another asked if we had a booking. When we said yes, he led us inside, chose a random bedroom, not the one we’d booked, and left us there. We waited in the room for an adult to show up, but no one came. So we left and found somewhere else. It was a really strange experience. Luckily, we had a car and it was still daylight. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Even if we’d stayed, anyone from the busy street outside could have walked in.

What a bizarre nightmare. The hotel doors were open and a radio was playing, but nobody was around when we arrived to check in. Our voices echoed through the empty halls. Then three children appeared and seemed to choose a room for us at random. It wasn’t the suite with a balcony we’d booked online. They left on a scooter, and the hotel, bar, and restaurant were empty again, except for us and our bags. We went upstairs, half expecting a bad horror film to start. Behind door number 8 was a cold, dim room with just a double bed and two oranges on a table. Maybe it was meant to be Valencian minimalism? We gave up trying to find help, used the free open Wi-Fi to book somewhere much nicer, and went to a hotel with actual staff.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarokatuh. Masyaallah, emro hotel has good service and a good location, and suits me very well. It was snowing yesterday, and the owner was so kind to the children too ❤️❤️❤️

It was warm, there was hot water, and the Wi-Fi worked well. It’s close to the road. But the place wasn’t ready to receive guests: the rooms weren’t cleaned, there was no service or food, and there was no restaurant or ATM.
