CitiHotel Veliki

The hotel is right in the city center, and I’d stay there again next time I’m in Novi Sad. Parking in the underground garage was excellent. The staff were friendly, spoke standard English, and were very willing to help. I also appreciated getting into my room much earlier than the stated time. There was some noise from air conditioners in nearby rooms when I arrived, but I shut off the fan in the evening and it didn’t bother me. I didn’t use the AC myself because it wasn’t needed and I don’t like it much. Breakfast was simple, but better than I expected from a continental breakfast. I had it twice and enjoyed it without overeating. The room kettle came with two teas and two instant coffees, which was great. There’s a shop nearby, so the minibar may be unnecessary, but its prices weren’t too high.

The restaurant had a warm, relaxed feel, and the location was fantastic. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The beds were comfortable, and the location couldn’t have been better. Reception spoke perfect English, and breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was absolutely excellent.

We’d stayed here three times because the location is so good, but this was our last visit. It cost far too much for this service and accommodation. The breakfast was great, though after a night like that it didn’t make up for the experience. It was 35C outside, and the apartment had no air conditioning. The receptionist wouldn’t give us the remote because of some currency issue. With no mosquito screens on the windows, we spent the whole night hot, itchy, and miserable. We’d asked in advance for a baby cot because we expected to arrive late, but it wasn’t provided until we asked again. Then we had to set it up ourselves and woke the kids.
