Garni Hotel AMI

The breakfast and restaurant team at Hotele AMI were the highlight of my time in Novi Sad. After sampling street food and other dishes around the city, I found the best food right at the hotel. The cook and staff were great, and everything was extremely fresh and nourishing. I can’t praise them enough, A+++

Our room was quiet despite the hotel being in a busy area, and the location was great. It was also very large and beautiful, with a big comfortable bed, a clean bathroom and everything we needed. Breakfast was very nice, with plenty for vegetarians, and the staff were friendly. The enclosed parking has cameras. We loved staying here and will definitely return when we’re next in Novi Sad.

We spent almost a week here and had a miserable time trying to relax. The hotel is centrally located, but we didn’t feel comfortable, and I’d suggest looking for a good Airbnb in the area instead. The room cards kept stopping working, so we had to go downstairs several times to get them reactivated, and nobody explained why. The shower pressure was very low, and there were stains all over the carpet. The place just felt dirty. One Saturday at 7:30 AM, a cleaning staff member rudely woke us to ask for the iron we’d borrowed, even though the hotel had other irons. The busy street and two nearby bus stops were noisy, with cars revving their engines loudly every 5 minutes or more, so we hardly got any restful sleep. The hotel and service felt subpar.

We paid twice what the place was worth for our weekend stay. The hotel seems more like a 3-star place, or 2 by EU standards. It’s poorly maintained, with dirty rugs and furniture. The room with a jacuzzi didn’t look clean enough for a bath, and some jacuzzi parts were missing while some tiles were coming off. Breakfast was limited and not very fresh.
