The staff were pleasant, and the adjoining Cafe served a standard breakfast. Our room was spacious, in a spot reasonably close to the Old Town but more among local neighborhoods. Still, for a non-smoking hotel, it smelled strongly of smoke and felt musty. The beds were among the worst we’ve slept in, so hard they felt like concrete.

Breakfast had lots of choices, and there’s a terrace out front. This was my second stay, after choosing the hotel again for its location and garage. The rooms feel dated and have several problems: the air conditioning didn’t work, there was no hot water at one point, and the curtains didn’t really block anything. I would have mentioned it at checkout, but nobody asked how our stay was 😊

The room was clean and ready for us, and the hotel’s common areas looked very nice. Staff were kind and willing to help, even though the receptionist spoke little English. Check-in itself took just 2-3 minutes. Breakfast had pretty much everything, and the shower cabin only needed minor maintenance. My bigger issue was the window: there were no blinds or thick curtains, so the daylight at about 5:00 am woke me early. Wi-Fi was slower than I expected, perhaps because of the summer school. The surrounding area isn’t great, but after about 100 m in either direction it gets better. I stayed for the IPICS + CSP summer school and would choose this hotel again if I return to Novi Sad.

The room’s poor sanitation is why I’m giving one star. I have sensitive skin, so cleanliness is a big deal for me, and it left me questioning the sanitation of the breakfast room too, despite the food selection being great. The staff were great as well, and the hotel is nicely decorated with lots of amenities in the room. I hope they’re paid well.

We had a room with a very good view, though some rooms apparently have no windows and aren’t advertised that way. The hotel is near the city center and looks beautiful inside, but the underground garage has only seven spaces and getting into some of them takes maneuvering. Our bedsheet had a blood stain, the bathroom vent was dusty and moldy, and the mattress was rock hard. The carpets were dirty, though their patterns made it hard to notice. Food was alright with plenty of options, but the omelette looked strange and I didn’t dare try it. After one night, I just wanted to leave quickly in the morning.
