The only letdown was the very limited breakfast selection. Otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised: for a small town like Paračin, the rooms are better than those in some four-star hotels in Belgrade.

The room was spacious, clean, and nice, and the staff were smiling and helpful. The hotel itself could use some renovation or maintenance. It looks like it was once quite luxurious, but the fountain centerpiece in the corridor wasn't working properly and had some green stuff in it. Pets are allowed and parking is available, both for a fee. There's no 24-hour reception.

The rooftop restaurant is a real standout, very unusual for this part of the country, and has a lovely atmosphere. They have a good range of cocktails too. Service was slow and below average, though, and the pancakes were nearly tasteless and below average.

The hotel had many problems during our stay. The room power went out when a circuit breaker tripped, and after rain the walls leaked and smelled very bad. The air conditioning didn't work, and there was no airflow in the basement games room. The spa never opened. In the room, we found dirty towels, an unclean bathroom sink, no extra body wash, beds left unmade, curtains unhooked and tacky-looking, broken lampshades, and doors left open by housekeeping. There was a hole in the bathroom wall where the pipes came through. Toilets made loud noises, and we weren't allowed to flush toilet paper. The lobby door and stairs were dirty. We found a chill on the first day, and it was still on the same step when we left a week later. There was mould on top of the apple juice on two mornings in a row. The customer service and hotel maintenance lacked professionalism. This definitely isn't a four-star hotel, more like two or three stars. Ivan and Anna made poor excuses for not knowing how to provide customer service or run a reception desk. The manager was rude, arrogant, unprofessional, intolerant, contemptuous in most of our conversation, and lacking people skills. He also smoked in the non-smoking section of the lobby, as shown in the attached photos. He assaulted me by pulling very hard on my shoulder to turn me around, leaving bruises for a few days. If I owned the hotel, I'd be embarrassed.
